Kids for Flips - Suid-Kaap Forum / Just Love

Giving Children the Gift of Flight

Inspiring Young Lives Through Aviation

For many children, flying in an aircraft is an exciting adventure.

For some, it is a dream they never expect to come true.

The Kids for Flips initiative was created to give disadvantaged children the opportunity to experience the excitement of flight while creating lasting memories and inspiring hope for the future.

Through the support of Just Love Mission, the Suid-Kaap Forum, and the South African Military Veterans Organisation International (SAMVO), this dream became a reality for more than one hundred children.

SAMVOZA - Kit for kids at Laerskool Bertie Barnard

Bertie Barnard Primary School is in the Stilbaai area of the Western Cape and educates many young children from low socio-economic backgrounds. These children love their sport, so Colin Bowring of SAMVOZA helped sponsor the rugby and netball teams with new school outfits.

Laerskool Bertie Barnard Refurbishment Project

Veterans Giving Back to Their Community

At SAMVO, we believe that service doesn't end when military service does.

The Laerskool Bertie Barnard Refurbishment Project is an excellent example of military veterans continuing to make a positive difference by applying their skills, leadership and community spirit to support local schools.

In December 2016, a team of SAMVOZA volunteers, together with generous sponsors and community partners, undertook the refurbishment of the administration offices at Laerskool Bertie Barnard in Stilbaai, Western Cape.

SAMVOZA Remote Community Upliftment Project

Remote areas of Africa have issues with finding a clean water supply. This projects flies in equipment required to find water, drill for it and pump it out. What better way than using a Merry-go-Round, driven by the children?

Malmesbury Shelter Project

The project started with improving the shelter situation for 36 Veterans and their families in the Malmesbury area in the Western Cape. Yongama Zigebe, our Welfare and Parliamentary Officer put the entire project together, securing a roof over the heads of this large number of homeless Veterans and their families and food on the table.

The shelter is an old Church building, which Yongama had to make a personal commitment to ensure it will be looked after.

We, the Veterans and, we are sure the people within that Shelter, salute you, Yongama.

SAMVOZA Safe House Project

This project provides a safe haven for destitute Veterans and their families, putting them up until they can find their feet again in a safe family environment. This enables the Veteran to reestablish himself / herself in suitable work whilst the children can attend school.
