Vale Veteran Godfrey Giles - SAMVOZA Vice-Chairman

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of SAMVOZA Vice Chairman Lt Col (Ret) Godfrey Giles, who passed away peacefully in the early hours of the morning of the 16th October 2025, at home, surrounded by his family.

RIP Godfrey. You did so much for Veterans, not just within SAMVO, but at the CMVO, the SA Irish, MOTHs and SA Legion, and this will be your legacy. This was after a long and dedicated military career from 1968 to 2014. You joined SAMVO on the 15th May, 2021, and you now leave us a better organisation. You achieved your goal of having black Veterans find a home within SAMVOZA. Thank you, Godfrey, for your immense service.
