Laerskool Bertie Barnard Refurbishment Project

Veterans Giving Back to Their Community

At SAMVO, we believe that service doesn't end when military service does.

The Laerskool Bertie Barnard Refurbishment Project is an excellent example of military veterans continuing to make a positive difference by applying their skills, leadership and community spirit to support local schools.

In December 2016, a team of SAMVOZA volunteers, together with generous sponsors and community partners, undertook the refurbishment of the administration offices at Laerskool Bertie Barnard in Stilbaai, Western Cape.

The Bertie Barnard Primary School Refurbishment
Project undertaken: December, 2016.

Based on the application of our skills and resources in order to support not-for-profit charities and community support initiatives, SAMVOINT undertook, with partners, to refurbish the Administration Offices of the Bertie Barnard Primary School in Stilbaai, Western Cape.

The project was driven by the National Chairman of SAMVOZA, Colin Bowring and he put together a group of sponsors that raised sufficient money to cover the cost of refurbishment . The end result was a completely new look and a school reception that gives a very good impression and family atmosphere that clearly shows this school’s commitment to its pupils.

Our sincere thanks go to Colin for driving this project and the veterans who participated.
