You are invited to our Zoom meeting for May 2022 presented by SAMVOA Victoria.
Unfortunately, our guest speaker, AI Venter, who is a well-known war correspondent who covered the South African Border War, is unable to attend this month and we are pleased that one of our previous presenters, Herman van Niekerk has agreed to present on 5 May. As you know he was a member of 5 Reconnaissance Commando and is a HC recipient. As with most of the permanent members of the SADF of the day, he had to change career mid-life and find something else to do. In his case in security related jobs around Africa. Herman has been in Nigeria now for several years and he will be telling us about his experiences there. His topic will be “Life as Expat in the Delta”.

In our SITREP slot we will have Joe Keyter talking about Power Struggles – observations about the impact of electric powered devices on the battlefield. Back in the day when we were young enough to fight, our only problem was batteries for the radios. We now have a power-hungry Godzilla to keep happy.
